About Our Fragrance Fiesta Set (Jasmine absolute & Lemon Verbena)

FRAGRANCE FIESTA

In our FRAGRANCE FIESTA short texts we will visit, in loose sequence, some of the most popular fragrances in aromatherapy. We shall discuss selected aspects such as composition, fragrance effect or myths and lore. In this first installment we shall address consoling Lemon Verbena and seductive Jasmine. We also make available a free excerpt from the Aromatherapy Correspondence Course with an introduction to PERFUME AND EROS from the Courses Part V: "Psychology of Fragrance."

Lemon Verbena

Lemon verbena has one of the most delightful, radiant and vibrant aromas in Aromatherapy. Its special character arises from a very gentle combination of citral aldehydes. While the gentleness is the key factor, the fragrance itself has inspired great aromatherapy minds to describe Lemon Verbena as akin to happy memories that engender faith and hope for the future. According to French authors it combats gloom and melancholy, sorrow and depression. It is perfect to use in the diffuser, creating massage blends and body mists.

Jasmine absolute

Jasmine absolute is one of the most frequently used natural fragrance materials.

An old saying therefore claims: No perfume without Jasmine. While this seems like a bold statement it might not be far from the truth. The Jasmine - Rose complex is a basic building block for many of the “Grands Perfumes”.

Its ability to impart its character is such that only very little Jasmine absolute is needed to infuse a pronounced, seductive, powerful sweet floral note into any composition.

Due to its powerful aroma, minute amounts of this precious oil is needed to impart elegance, balance, and smoothness to perfume creations.

Perfume and Eros

Since Jasmine has one of the most erogenous fragrance effects we offer a brief introduction to the “Perfume and Eros” topic as a downloadable pdf.

This text on Perfume and Eros is excerpted from the PIA Aromatherapy Correspondence Course Part V: Psychology of Fragrances by Dr. Kurt Schnaubelt. To purchase the whole Part V: Psychology of Fragrances please go to: www.pacificinstituteofaromatherapy.com/downloads.pdf
