Calming, antiinflammative, digestive and liver tonic, cellulite
Perhaps most effectively used to equilibrate imbalances of the autonomic nervous system, Lemongrass oil is also a vasodilator; it shows pronounced tonifying effects on the digestive tract as well as strong antiviral, anti-inflammatory and sedative properties. This oil is the preferred Lemongrass essential oil for aromatherapy, distilled from Cymbopogon flexuosus. Because of its high citral content, Lemongrass oil tends to be irritating to the skin and is best used in synergy with other milder essential oils or diluted with a carrier oil. It's astringent character makes this oil apporpriate for the treament of cellulite.
