Organic Fine Lavender is a ‘population’ Lavender from Haute Provence. Population Lavender oils contain a much greater number of components than clonal Lavenders. The most obvious quality of a population Lavender oil vis a vis a clonal specimen is its complexity – reflected in the elegant and less intense, but rounder fragrance. Using Fine Lavenders over time often leads to a profoundly intuitive relationship with this classic essential oil.

Lavender is a centerpiece of aromatherapy, a panacea for everyone offering calm and serenity. This particular Lavender grows on the Plateau de Sault. Distillation at higher altitudes proceeds at somewhat lower temperatures than distillation at sea level. As a consequence the linalyl esters contained in the flowering plant experience less decomposition and also distill over at a higher rate. The resulting Lavender oil is gentle soft and floral.
